I went down to look today and it is high but we are okay so far. They are asking people to stay off the river but haven't made it mandatory as of yet. Usually on a hot day like today the river would be filled with boats. Today there was one and what an idiot. He was out for the show, loud tunes and stuff and he barely made it under the train bridge and had to slow right down because of the wave when the boat moves forward he almost hit the bridge even at a crawl, what a dummy. He must have been from a private boat launch because I thought all public ones were closed off till the water goes down.

 

WE don't get many boaters on the river... there are special events of course and we have a paddle-wheeler that one can ride, after purchasing a ticket.... but that is it mosty. It stinks in places so I don't know why people pay to ride that river... NO swimming of course, a) because of the current = drowning, b) because of polution...

I remember Kamloops honey from early 50's (53 I think) All those homes north of the Thompson were not there then...it was very rich looking farm land.
There was a young woman riding her horse up on the low mountain / big hill north of those homes / old farm land. I can see her now as if it were yesterday. Cowboy hat / chaps / light brown hair / beautiful brown horse ... I miss the those days... to much shit happening in the world today.

 

This is still very much farming country even though we have quite a city now. Come visit one day.

Our river is very clean and usually very busy since the weather is so hot here in the summer.

Lumby BC has floods up to peoples windows! Lumby is just over an hr from me.

I went-over the river here today / this evening... it is high... one can see were it was ... hum!
It's into the bush's along the river bank; still multiple meters from actually causing any problems.

It rained all day here today... a beautiful day for people like me who love the rain.

Fernie, B.C. has their streets covered with water, check out the videos on the left and see the heart break of people who have lost everything. Apperantly Williams Lake is flooded too so my city is surrounded by floods but so far we have escaped any crisis.
